Homestory

Hi! It's me, Daniel.

Happy to see you here to get a little more information about me.

Originally from the Bavarian Forest wich is located in the south of Germany. So as you see I got in touch with trees and wood basically at the moment I was born. And I have always loved the smell and sound of the forest.

We do have also a family history as woodworkers and wood artists. But early in my live I decided to become a helicopter pilot. And still I am.

Unfortunately I lost my dad too early. This had a big impact on my life and changed a lot of things. As well my point of view for family tradition.

An idea grew. Yes, and now here we are.

Passion and art developed.

History comes alive, grows and thrives.

It startet a couple of years ago.

Basically I startet as an Autodidakt in reading lots of books and inhaling hundreds of YouTube videos. That worked ok but to reach really an important level of quality and technique it's undoubtable to graduate in a woodturning course. I did this in Austria and France with renowned master woodturners.

Followed by several Master Classes and finally opening my woodturning atelier as a Master Craftsman in woodturning.

There are three persons I have to mention. Three wood artists who developed my style and technique significantly. Master Craftsman Alfred Baumann, one of the last professional Austrian woodturners. Thank you Alfred, you made everything possible.

Thierry Berthéas, a virtuoso in texturing and colouring. A Master Class with him is just a pleasure and very intense.

And David Ellsworth which I consider as one of the most important Wood Artists on this planet earth.

The French Master School of Woodturning "Ecole Escoulen" in the southern of France is a place to free your mind and bring yourself up to another level. Awesome. It's always a pleasure to educate yourself there.

Today I can just say that I'm still at the beginning of this journey.

Every day is a learning day.
